ANC-PAC Honors Congressman Sherman At Fundraising Event
June 8, 2007 Granada Hills, CA - Congressman Brad Sherman joined supporters of the Armenian National Committee - Political Action Committee (ANC-PAC) on June 1st at a fundraiser held for his Congressional campaign in Granada Hills, California. The event, which drew a strong crowd of politically aware individuals, was hosted by longtime ANC leader Nishan Bostanian and his wife Nairi. "I am dedicated to the effort to recognize the Armenian Genocide in the House of Representatives," remarked Congressman Sherman. "I will continue to work for foreign aid for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and for a fair American foreign policy in the Caucasus. My friends at the ANC-PAC have provided valuable support and counsel in that effort," the Congressman added. ANC-PAC supporters from throughout Los Angeles County attended the event in support of Congressman Sherman's re-election campaign. The Congressman has been a longtime supporter of issues important to his constituents in the San Fernando Valley. The Congressman is well known for his work in ending the denial of the Armenian Genocide and promoting a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabagh. Congressman Sherman was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1997 with the full support of the ANC-PAC. Congressman Sherman's Congressional District in the San Fernando Valley includes Northridge, Granada Hills, Tarzana, Burbank and other areas with a high concentration of Armenian Americans. Congressman Sherman is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and presently serves as the Chairman for the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade. The ANC-PAC is a non-partisan federally registered political action committee established to support campaign committees for Members of Congress who share the values of the Armenian American community.
