ANC-PAC supporters from throughout Los Angeles County attended the event in support of Congressman Sherman's re-election campaign. The Congressman has been a longtime supporter of issues important to his constituents in the San Fernando Valley. The Congressman is well known for his work in ending the denial of the Armenian Genocide and promoting a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabagh.

Congressman Sherman was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1997 with the full support of the ANC-PAC. Congressman Sherman's Congressional District in the San Fernando Valley includes Northridge, Granada Hills, Tarzana, Burbank and other areas with a high concentration of Armenian Americans. Congressman Sherman is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and presently serves as the Chairman for the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade.
